In this video I box against my shadow. This performance responds to perceptions of masculine ideals within my family. My great grandfather, Teddy Maguire, was the UK lightweight boxing champion. He has passed away, yet the ideals based on the glorification of his successes remain alive through the presence of his trophies and photographs throughout my family home.
